Contacts & Jobs -
Urgent:
Deployments have sapped Ski for Light Volunteer pool
Most of you know what Ski for
Light is. Those unaware read this blurb or check out the website www.bhskiforlight.org
Ski
for light is an organization dedicated to structured outdoor activities for people
with disabilities. Friendships made at Ski for Light last a lifetime.
3 1/2 days of skiing and social activities every night. Starts Jan 25 at Deer
Mountain, South Dakota with lodging provided by the Franklin Motel in Deadwood.
2004 is the 25th anniversary event and our largest ever.
Why
am I mailing you? More than 125 disabled participants are signed up this year
but only 60 guides and volunteers. It's time for the non-military volunteers to
step up and do good in this world.
Email or call
me at 341-3940 or 343-7234 or call directly to the SFL office at 341-3626.
Please
forward this message to any downhill or x-country skiers you know. Please don't
delay, this event is tremendously important to the people that participate, often
the only time they get out of their disability enforced shells.
Your
mission, should you choose to accept, is to help provide a skiing experience so
profound as to either fill a life with enough joy to last till next year or actually
(and it wouldn't be the first time) explode that shell, breaking someone out and
into the world.
Seem daunting? Than you need to attend Ski for Light to awaken
your own blinding Light.
Thanks for spreading the
word,
Brad Morgan

New
"Monterey Movie Tours" Debuts on the Monterey Peninsula
Contact:
Doug Lumsden
Monterey Bay Scenic Tours

December 30, 2003, Monterey, CA --
A
new deluxe motorcoach tour that shows off local sites filmed in Hollywood movies
has begun on the Monterey Peninsula. The "Monterey Movie Tours" is a
3-hour daily trip by deluxe motorcoach which not only takes passengers to see
film locations, but also offers live narration along with movie clips to watch
on overhead monitors on board the 32-seat luxury tour coach.
Monterey
Movie Tours is owned and operated by Doug Lumsden, a Monterey native and the owner
of the award-winning Monterey Bay Scenic Tours. The daily tours, began June 26,
2003, visit many of the site locations that have been used in nearly 200 movies
that have been made on the Monterey Peninsula since 1897. It is the only tour
of its kind in the continental United States, with only one similar movie-themed
tour being offered in Hawaii.
Showing off the Monterey
Peninsula as seen through Hollywood's eyes, the Monterey Movie Tours visits memorable
local sites in Monterey, Pacific Grove, Pebble Beach and Carmel and shares details
of scenes in several well-known movies. Reservations for the daily tours can be
made by calling 831-372-6278 or email doug@mbstours.com.
The web site is www.montereymovietours.com.
"Moviegoers love to know more about their favorite
films and the actors who starred in them," says Lumsden. "To see or
stand at a location where a favorite movie was shot or a famous actor or actress
strolled is a huge thrill for movie fans, and we look forward to sharing these
experiences with our tour guests."
Interest in
visiting film sites is so great that the Monterey County Film Commission recently
published its "On Location Movie Map of Monterey County," which lists
190 films shot in the region, including Play Misty for Me, Clash By Night, Star
Trek IV, A Summer Place and Rebecca. The film commission is a non-profit organization
that works with film production companies to enhance economic impact within the
county.
"Filmmakers have been drawn to Monterey
County locations for decades, finding our locations the perfect backdrop for their
shots," says Greg Robinson, executive director of the Monterey County Film
Commission. "Those taking the Monterey Movie Tours will be able to share
the visions of beauty and diverse scenery here which continue to attract film
productions."
Journalists are invited to
experience the tour.

Cleaning Jobs in Dutch
Shipyards - Psychic wants a Cruise
Hello,
I recently arrived in Holland, by way
of northern italy. I am currently studying dutch and looking for work. I'd like
to apply for any and all cleaning work you may have. I speak english and spanish
and italian and I can understand dutch as well, though speaking is still a little
dificult, but I am learning. I don't mind working long hours, weekends or holidays.
I am currently staying with friends in Koog a/d Zaan and I want to help them out
a little by making some money on my own. It will give me a sense of accomplishment
while I study and learn the language and the customs of this country. I was told
that cleaning jobs are usually a good place to start. I just like to work, I can't
spend my entire day studying, I need to feel useful economically as well. I'd
like to offer my services, I sincerely hope we can get better acquainted.
Kind
regards,
K G
Dear
K G,
...Now, with regard to cleaning work in Holland - contact
the shipyards. Look for yachts hiring crew or dayworkers to help with various
small jobs while in the yard. Your best bet is to actually visit the shipyards.
(These jobs will include a lot of cleaning, painting, varnishing, etc.) Here is
a list of Dutch shipyards from my first book, The
Yachtie Bible: How to Get Paid While Traveling in Style:
Dear Kim,
My name is
Betty Lipton. I am a very well-known psychic . I am interested in trading my services
in return for a cruise for my husband and I . I was in a book 'The 100 Top Psychics
in America' by Paulette Cooper.
I have a practice in Portsmouth,N.H.
called Inner Visions-Betty Lipton. My business phone is # 603-436-2412 - My website
is www.thezodiaczone.com . I have done many huge parties from very well-known restaurants to conventions.
I have given many lectures, I have been on T.V. and I am a regular on the radio.
I would like to know if you can get me an engagement on cruises, and what you
need me to send to you.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Thank-you,
Betty Lipton
